Color Guard Overview
The Color Guard Program began in 2002, where graduating Cadets were asked to volunteer for the Color Guard and present the colors at all the Texas Tech Men’s Basketball Games. Since this time, the program has become a tremendous opportunity for the Cadets. Beginning in 2007, the Cadets were taught the basics of “Drill and Ceremony” during the “Leaders in Training” camp and they were then challenged to tryout for the Color Guard.
Each year during the Leadership Development Camp, youth are providing knowledge of drill & ceremony. The last week of camp, those who are intererested are provided the opportunity to tryout for the Youth Corps Honor Guard. Once selected, each young person is provided a uniform to present our Nation's Colors at various events.
Currently, the Youth Corps Honor Guard provides Color Guard for Texas Tech Men's Basketball Games, Texas Tech Women's Basketball & Soccer, Special Olympics Events, and Elks Flag Day Ceremony.
